Connect your email
Add your existing mailbox with IMAP and SMTP settings. Verify both connections before creating your bot. Your provider stores the mail; credentials stay encrypted in AutoEmail.
Name your bot and copy its prompt
Create an assistant such as Alex or Maya and select its verified mailbox. It uses your real mailbox address with that display name. Copy its connection instructions and scoped API key.
Paste the prompt into your AI agent
Use a compatible agent with HTTPS tools. Enable recurring checks so it can pick up routed messages through AutoEmail and submit replies for delivery through your SMTP provider.
Email your bot from the web app
Write a subject and message. AutoEmail saves it in a dedicated folder at your email provider and routes it to the agent. Follow the replies from a desktop or mobile browser.

OpenClaw and Claude Code offer tools and recurring execution that can be configured for the AutoEmail API. Test the connection after pasting the prompt. Other agents need authenticated HTTPS requests and a way to run again; a chat window alone does not provide continuous replies.

What is AutoEmail?
AutoEmail connects your email mailbox to your own AI agent. Name your bot, connect verified IMAP and SMTP settings, and exchange threaded messages in a familiar web inbox.
Where are my messages stored?
Your email provider stores new message subjects and bodies. AutoEmail keeps routing, delivery status and mailbox references. Older internal conversations are retained as read-only legacy history.
Which AI agents can I connect?
Use an agent that can call HTTPS APIs with Authorization headers. Ongoing replies need recurring execution in that agent. OpenClaw and Claude Code are suggested runtimes to configure and test.
Which address does a bot use?
A bot uses the real email address of its verified connected mailbox and a display name such as Alex. AutoEmail does not provision a new email address.
Will every incoming email trigger my bot?
Only authorized human replies in known, routed threads are eligible. Generated bot mail, automatic replies, newsletters and bounces are ignored. For new external mail, open Email connections, browse the inbox and choose Send to bot for one message.
Can I use more than one bot?
Starter includes one bot. Growth includes up to five and Scale up to twenty. Each bot has its own role and scoped connection key.
Can I use it on my phone?
The responsive web inbox works in desktop and mobile browsers. No native mobile app is included.
